California has always been a leader in innovation. Right now, California is poised to be among the leaders, again, in launching a State Health Benefits Exchange that can help transform delivery of health care, lowering costs and improving quality of care for all Californians.
America's Agenda is proud to have the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with our California partners - labor unions, large and small businesses, health care providers, patient advocates, health plans, and elected leaders - to help California launch a 'smart exchange' that will harness the potential of competition among qualified health plans to drive innovation in delivery of better, more affordable and accessible care.
Together, we have formed an alliance, the Health Exchange Advocacy and Responsibility Team or "HEART." Organizations from across the spectrum of California life have joined the alliance. Members of the California Exchange Board, it's staff, and state elected leaders are listening and talking with HEART about the direction of the Exchange. Please see the following articles about the alliance published last week:
Sacramento Business Journal:
Some important advances were achieved in preliminary policies adopted last month by the California Exchange Board, but significant challenges still lie ahead. HEART will be there, giving a voice to California working families, businesses, and health providers who are working to keep California growing and healthy.
