On Tuesday, June 9th, our America’s Agenda member organizations held a press conference in Washington, D.C. to highlight our growing bipartisan alliance of business, labor and heath care leaders who are working together to pass legislation in Congress that modernizes our health care system while improving quality and reducing cost. Congressman Richard Gephardt and Governor Tommy Thompson joined IBM, Textron Inc, the Laborers International Union of North America and Iron Workers Union in releasing bipartisan, consensus-based recommendations on health reform to Congress and the Administration. Take a look at behind the scenes footage from the event.

Through our “Summit Conversations” held with leaders across the country, we have seen an emerging consensus among business, labor, health care, and government leaders around a common strategy for reducing the overall rate of growth in health costs. [Insert Hyperlink to footage] The America’s Agenda health reform policy recommendations are stimulating discussion about the broad areas of common ground in labor and business priorities for l health care reform that will be the foundation for enactment of effective legislation in Congress.
